The Flames Take On The Sparks For The Pyro Cup

The Twin County Flames played their rivals, The Sparks for the Pyro Cup in what turned out to be the most exciting soccer match of the season. The game ended with a 2-2 tie and forced an extra period to determine the winner. The score remained tied at the end of the extra period and the game went to a penalty shootout where the Sparks bested The Flames 2 goals to 1 to win the 2009 Pyro Cup. All of the girls played exceptionally well in a game that will be remembered for a long time.
The Twin County Flames End The Season With A Tie

The Twin County Flames girls soccer team of Brick,
NJ ended the season with a tough game against the Jersey Shore Express which ended in a 2-2 tie. Both teams ended the Fall Soccer season tied in points and goals against but The Flames beat their opponents by one goal overall this season. Giving them the 4th place spot over the Jersey Shore Express. This was a great season for the first year Flames, beating everyone's expectations and coming out ahead of some tough teams.
The Twin County Flames Shut Out The Crushers

The Twin County Flames girls soccer team of Brick,
NJ played the Colts Neck Crushers for the second time this season to settle the only tie in the league when they ended their first game together with one goal each back in September. The Girls did an outstanding job in offense to score 3 goals against the Crushers, who have one of the toughest defenses in the league. The only thing that equaled The Flames offense was their defense who played their best game to date and prevented The Crushers from scoring. The defense, with Jordan and Elizabeth in goal, was able to secure the first shutout this season for The Flames to end the game 3-0.
The Flames End The Jersey Shore Express Winning Streak

The Jersey Shore Express took the lead less than a minute into what would be a very exciting soccer match with a goal against The Twin County Flames. It looked like it was going to be a rough game but that would be their only goal of the day. The Flames tied the game shortly after with a goal from a penalty kick. The score remained tied 1-1 until the end of the second half, when, from past the eighteen, Maria sent the soccer ball sailing over the Jersey Shore Express defense and over the goalkeeper to score a second goal for The Flames with just a few minutes left in the game. The Flames defense prevented another goal and won the game 2-1 ending the 2 game winning streak by The Jersey Shore Express.
